Col Hem Chandra Singh was commissioned into 1 Para (SF) Regiment. He completed his graduation from NDA (JNU) and did his Masters in, Defence and Strategic Studies from University of Madras. The Officer was commissioned on 12thJune 2004.
Col Hem Chandra Singh has taken over as the Principal, Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports, Nunwan, Pahalgam in June 2023. This Institute under him is looking forward to excel more heights in further improvement in its Infra structure, administration, training, adventure and in mountaineering field to live its motto of "We Train to Excel".
