Unity Run for Celebrating National Unity Day in Pahalgam organised by JIM &WS in collaboration with civil administration Pahalgam 

Date: October 31, 2023

Introduction:

On October 31, 2023, a Unity Run was organized in Pahalgam to celebrate National Unity Day, also known as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. This event marked the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, who played a significant role in uniting the diverse princely states into a single, unified India. The Unity Run emphasized the importance of unity, diversity, and the vision of a strong, united India.

Event Details:

1. Participants:

   - The event saw active participation from students of Higher Secondary School, Pahalgam, and High School LP Kallan, Pahalgam.

   - The run covered a total distance of 8.5 kilometers, starting from Club Park and concluding at the Mandilan wildlife gate.

   - Prior to the run, a Unity Pledge was taken at the starting point.

2. Dignitaries:

   The event was graced by the presence of several notable dignitaries, including:

   - Col Hem Chandra Singh, Director of JIM & WS, Pahalgam

   - Mr. Syed Naseer (JKAS), SDM Pahalgam

   - Dr. Mohd Hussain (JKAS), Tehsildar Pahalgam

   - Mr. Zaffar Iqbal, SHO, Pahalgam

   - Mr. Bilal Ahmad, ADT, Pahalgam

3. Awards and Recognition:

   Prizes were awarded to the top performers in both girls and boys categories. The following students were recognized:

   Girls:

   - Sumera from High School LP Kallan, Pahalgam

   - Munaza Nisar from High School LP Kallan, Pahalgam

   - Ruhi Jan from Higher Secondary School, Pahalgam

   Boys:

   - Muntazir Ahmad Khan from Higher Secondary School, Pahalgam

   - Monis Yaqoob from Higher Secondary School, Pahalgam

   - Safeer Ali from Higher Secondary School, Pahalgam

Conclusion:

The Unity Run event was a resounding success, promoting the values of teamwork, collaboration, physical fitness, and healthy living among the students. It served as a powerful reminder of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's legacy and his tireless efforts to unite India's diverse states. The encouraging words from Director JIM & WS and SDM Pahalgam provided motivation for the students to continue working together and striving for unity.
