Lidder Wat Trail Run Event Report - 25th October, 2023

Introduction:

On the bright morning of 25th October 2023, a remarkable trail run event unfolded in the scenic landscapes of Aru Valley of Jammu and Kashmir. The event, spanning from 8 AM to late afternoon, was organized through a collaborative effort by JIM and WS in partnership with JK Tourism, the civil administration, Pahalgam, and sponsored generously by Hotel Welcome and Cafe Wilo.

Event Highlights:

1. Total Distance Covered: Participants braved an impressive 11 kilometres of challenging terrain, showcasing their endurance and love for adventure.

2. Participant Enthusiasm: A total of 300 enthusiastic participants, including 200 girls and 100 boys, displayed their unwavering dedication to the sport and their commitment to promoting adventure in the region.

3. Trailblazing Prizes: The competition was fierce, and the stakes were high. A total of ₹15,000, ₹10,000, and ₹5,000 were awarded as first, second, and third prizes in both girls' and boys' categories, serving as a testament to the fierce competition.

Girls Category:

- Miss Bhagirathi Bisht emerged as the champion, securing the first prize.

- Miss Sara Nakas showcased her skills and secured the second prize.

- Miss Razia Banoo demonstrated incredible determination, securing the third prize.

Boys Category:

- Mr. Gulbadan Hikmityar proved his mettle and secured the first prize.

- Mr. Umer Farooq showcased his impressive stamina and secured the second prize.

- Mr. Danish Hameed displayed remarkable perseverance, securing the third prize.

The trail run event served a dual purpose:

2. Fostering Nationalism: By bringing together children and youth, the event aimed to instill a sense of nationalism and channel their energy towards positive nation-building activities.

The trail run event held on 25th October 2023 was a resounding success, thanks to the collaboration of JIM and WS, JK Tourism, civil administration, high support received from the civil administration especially Mr. Tariq Hussain Naik, CEO Pehalgam Development Authority, Forest Dept, Wildlife Dept, Police dept Aru, Director of Health and Medical services, volunteers from adventure tourism and AJKMF, Taxi Association and pony association, etc. and generous sponsorship of Hotel Welcome and Cafe Wilo.

It not only celebrated the spirit of adventure but also contributed to the broader goal of instilling patriotism and nation-building among the youth.
